How do I get to Bariloche?

You will book flights to fly into Buenos Aires, Argentina, and another one to Bariloche (we can assist with booking flights). You can arrive on the day the retreat starts and we will provide complimentary airport transfers on the first and last dates of the retreat. Also, you can choose to arrive before the retreat starts, and we are happy to provide you with pre-retreat hotel booking support, so you can get picked up from the airport when you arrive (for an additional fee), and then we can provide a complimentary pick you up from any hotel that lies within our pick up zone on the first day of the retreat. We can make your trip to Argentina and Lux Snow Retreat a seamless experience where all you have to do is show up and enjoy! Please note that any accommodation arranged pre and post-retreat is not included in the retreat rate.

I’m coming solo, is that ok?

Absolutely! Around 80% of our guests are solo travelers. Most of our guests make new friends, staying in touch long after their retreat finishes. Lux Week is an ideal place to come as a solo woman traveler.

What age and nationality are the women who come to the LUX Snow retreat?

Typically, our Lux Snowboard retreat guests are women around 29 – 45+ and come from all around the world. We also have older and younger women on every retreat…. and all have loved their time here. Our guests come from all walks of life; different age groups, nationalities, sizes, backgrounds, and goals, and we do all we can to foster an inclusive environment so that everyone is welcome and feels like part of the Lux family. What unites guests at Lux Snow Retreats is not so much age or nationality; but rather, a fun-loving attitude and spirit for adventure, and all the wisdom they share with each other. We respect all our guests’ varied religions and orientations. While we are a women’s retreat (with only female guests) we do have drivers, security, and guides. Our spa team is all female and our main retreat hosts are also female, yet it is not 100% a women-only environment.

What should I pack for my snowboard and yoga retreat?

Make sure you pack clothing that is warm and durable! A pre-trip packing list will be provided to you when you book. Key items to bring for your retreat in Bariloche are your ski clothes, snow boots, mitts, and beanies, something nice for the night out… yoga/gym wear, light pajamas, and personal toiletries, device chargers. We provide bath and beach towels and all the avalanche equipment. We recommend you travel with your own snowboard gear but we do have splitboards and snowboards to rent! Some really good sunglasses and sun protection are a must!

What kind of weather should I expect?

Cold, dry cold! And sunny!

How much money should I bring with me?

As this is an all-inclusive snowboard & yoga retreat, the only things you will need to pay for are personal incidentals, shopping, tips, and the 2 meals that are not included in the retreat package (to allow you to explore the fabulous restaurants nearby). If you wish to go shopping during your stay in Bariloche, there are many ATMs and money changers nearby. Plus, most shops and restaurants have credit card facilities.

What are the benefits of attending the LUX retreat?

Your Lux Retreat leaders and owners are yogi devotees and some are teachers; this experience means that they are able to transmit authentic yoga to you (yoga actually is more about how you live off the mat, than the poses done on the mat). It’s not just about being able to make complex shapes with your body. Being a true yogi means that they too are lifelong students just like you, so they are understanding and can relate to what you need and what you want to get from life, lessons that we all learn in self-love, self-reliance and self-responsibility – whatever stage you’re at.

Do I need to have a certain level of snowboarding / skiing or yoga to attend the LUX snowboard retreat?

Our activities are tailored to active women who typically spend a lot of time outside! Throughout the week we will do boat access backcountry snowboarding, resort snowboarding, daily yoga sessions, and cold water exposure training. While we welcome all guests and personalize each experience to each one of you, this isn’t a relaxing holiday. We ask you to take responsibility in self-assessing if our retreat activities may suit you. Please feel free to ask for more information from our team about any specific activities we offer.

What kind of food will you be serving?

Food is always one of the highlights of our retreats… As part of your all-inclusive retreat package, you’ll enjoy tasty cuisine that is made from local ingredients and is absolutely delicious. Meals are made from scratch with passion and care.

What meals are included?

Our LUX Menu includes 16 meals of breakfast lunch and dinners (with 1 dinner unscheduled for our guests to enjoy exploring Bariloche’s delicious dining options). The meal schedule can be seen on each of our retreat experience pages or simply request a schedule through our enquiry form. Between meals, we offer unlimited fresh cold-pressed vegetable and fruit juices, plant-based protein shakes, regular protein shakes, herbal teas, nut and cacao bliss balls, sweet potato crisps, and home made cookies.
